Tutor Terms

Please read these terms before you upload a course. You accept them when you register as a tutor and again each time you upload.

1

Your content must be original or properly licensed

You promise that every course you upload is either your own original work, or content you own the rights to or have a valid licence to use — including any video footage, code, slides, or documents inside your lectures.

You will not upload anything that copies, reuses, or repackages someone else's work without permission, such as another platform's course, a book's contents, copyrighted music or video, or paid stock media you have not licensed.

2

You keep ownership — you give us permission to run your course

You keep full ownership of your course. Nothing here transfers your copyright to us.

By uploading, you grant Flowdiary a non-exclusive licence to host, store, stream, display, and promote your course to students for as long as it is on the platform, and to use short excerpts or thumbnails to market it. We need this permission simply to be able to show your course to students and advertise it.

3

What you may not upload

You agree not to upload content that:

  • infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, or other rights;
  • is illegal, fraudulent, or misleading;
  • is hateful, defamatory, harassing, or sexual; or
  • contains malware or anything that could harm students or our systems.
4

If someone reports your content

If a rights holder or student reports that your content infringes their rights or breaks these terms, we may remove or hide the course while we look into it. We will let you know and give you a fair chance to respond.

If you repeatedly upload infringing content, we may permanently remove your courses and close your tutor account.

5

You cover claims that come from your content

If someone brings a legal claim against Flowdiary because of your content, for example, a copyright owner whose work you used without permission, you agree to be responsible for that claim, including any reasonable costs, damages, or legal fees we incur because of it. As long as your content really is original or licensed, this clause never affects you.

6

Earnings, payouts, and refunds

  • Revenue share: you earn 60% of the net revenue from each sale of your course. Flowdiary keeps 40% to cover hosting, streaming, payment processing, marketing, and student support.
  • Payouts: we pay out anytime you request.
  • Taxes: you are responsible for any tax you owe on your earnings.
  • Refunds and chargebacks: if a student is refunded under our refund policy, or a payment is reversed by the bank, the amount is deducted from your earnings. If you have already been paid for that sale, it is offset against future earnings.
7

Student information and data protection

As a tutor you may see student information such as names and questions only. You agree to use it only to teach and support your students on Flowdiary, never to sell, share, or use it for your own marketing, and to handle it in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the NDPC's General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID).

8

Reviewing, suspending, or removing courses

We may review your course before it goes live to check it meets our quality and content standards, and we may decline it or request changes. We may also suspend or remove a course later if it breaks these terms.

If a course is removed after students have paid for it, we will protect those students, either by keeping their access to what they paid for, or by refunding them, and we will tell you when this happens.

9

You are an independent tutor

You are an independent tutor, not an employee of Flowdiary. Nothing here creates an employment, partnership, or agency relationship.

10

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make an important change, we will notify you and, where appropriate, ask you to review the updated version. Continuing to upload or keep courses on Flowdiary after a change means you accept it.

11

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

By ticking "I agree to the Flowdiary Tutor Terms," and by confirming at each upload that your content is original or properly licensed, you accept these terms. Questions? Contact us at hello@flowdiary.ai.
